Helena Gerrish talk on Tipping and Rhiwbina Garden Village
Helena Gerrish talk: Henry Avray Tipping and Health and Happiness in Rhiwbina Garden Village
Please join us Sunday 1st April 2012 at Beulah United Reform Church, Rhiwbina, to hear Helena Gerrish speak on: Henry Avray Tipping and Health and Happiness in Rhiwbina Garden Village. Helena’s recent book on Tipping, Edwardian Country Life: the story of H. Avray Tipping, was published by Frances Lincoln Ltd last autumn and has been very well received so we are delighted that she has agreed to speak at our Annual General Meeting. Tipping was a keen supporter of the garden village concept and Helena has researched his involvement with Rhiwbina so we hope that we shall be joined by anyone with an interest in the area.
The programme for the afternoon is:
2.30pm: Annual General Meeting of the South & Mid Glamorgan Branch of the Welsh Historic Gardens Trust.
3.00pm: Helena Gerrish: Henry Avray Tipping and Health and Happiness in Rhiwbina Garden Village.
3.45pm: Cup of tea
4.30pm: Opportunity for a walk around Rhiwbina, led by Paul Underwood, former Chairman of the South & Mid Glamorgan Branch of the Welsh Historic Gardens Trust.
Location: Beulah URC, Rhiwbina, Cardiff (on the corner of Heol-y-Deri and Beulah Road).
NB There is no charge for this event, though we shall put out a pot into which voluntary contributions for the tea can be made!
