Clwyd

The Clwyd branch covers NE Wales, including Flintshire, Denbighshire and Wrexham Maelor. Clwyd  branch covers planning issues as far west as the River Conwy.

Clwyd branch runs a varied programme which begins in the spring and includes garden visits and talks. New members are welcome to meet us at any event. Advance booking is required for most events.

Clwyd events 2017

14 October 1.30pm Walled Garden Downing, Downing Road, Whitford, CH8 9EQ

This is the kitchen garden of the now demolished Downing Hall, the birthplace of Thomas Pennant.
Our hosts Garry and Rachel Von Borstel are in the Pennant Society.  Paul Brighton, Secretary of the society will also be able to join us.

Open from 6.30 for mulled wine and mincepies

Talk on the History of the Cottage Garden by Sue Griffith

11.30 Talk by John Phibbs on Repton
In 2018 we will be celebrating the work of Humphry Repton, the last great landscape designer of the eighteenth century. 2018 is the bicentenary of his death in March 1818.

In the afternoon Lord Newborough is kindly arranging a walk over the Repton landscape.

Details concerning booking for lunch and the afternoon Repton tour will be avilable in the New Year.
